Acericerus vittifrons is associated with Acer spp. especially A campestre (Field Maple). The forewings are marbled light grey and brownish, with a light spot on the clavus.  Males have a broad solid dark bar down the face; this extends above the ocelli (the minute simple eyes between the large compound eyes).  Females are very similar to A ribauti and may not be identifiable.

Acericerus ribauti and A heydenii are very similar and also found on Acer spp.

Detailed examination of the specimen is needed to identify this species. Please submit photos from top and side, and of the face, and note the host plant
