A small oval bug with mottled forewings, found on the marginal mud of waterbodies.  The fore tibiae have a dark streak which is continuous with the upper dark marking.

Other species of Saldula are very similar, and careful examination of a specimen is needed.  The species can only be separated from S palustris by dissection of male, but this species lives in a very different estuarine habitat and is not expected to be present in VC55

Photographs should clearty show dark streak on front tibiae. We recommend that you retain the specimen in case expert verification is needed.
