Pine-blossom Knot-horn - Vitula biviella
Wingspan 12-18 mm. Similar to certain Ephestia species, but greyer and less variegated in appearance, while the twin discal spots on the forewing of V. biviella are more elongate and the whitish cross-lines are more distinct, straighter and contrasting (Goater).

May to August.
The larvae feed in a web on the flowers of Scots Pine.
The first British record for this species came in 1997 from Lydd, Kent. It now seems to have established in South-eastern England and possibly in the Norfolk area.
Rare in Leicestershire and Rutland, not recorded in VC55 prior to 2026.
