A large golden fungus, wih a dry granular surface.  The veil often persists as a 'skirt' of veil fragments hanging from the margins.   The spore-print is light golden-brown

The Spectacular Rustgill Gymnopilus junoninus may look similar, but lacks the grainy surface and has much darker spores
