A red and black ichneumon with a white dorsal patch at the abdominal tip, red legs and females with a short but sturdy ovipositor. Antennae are red at the base and darken towards the tip. Females have a white band on their antennae. Males have a double white spot on the black tip of their abdomen and also have a white apical segment of the hind tarsus.
