A very small bivalve, up to 3mm, pale in colour, glossy and very tumid - some specimens are almost spherical. Typically found in swampy habitats. The umbo is off-centre, largely appearing as a smoothly rounded extension of the shell. The shell has numerous pores which are more obvious on the inside.

Typically found in swampy habitats, particularly those choked with vegetation and debris.

It is tolerant of habitat dessication.

Common but under-recorded.

Unknown. Probably reasonably common but few records.
