Similar to Chorisops tibialis, but Chorisops nagatomii has more extensively yellow tergites (especially in the female).

May be possible to identify some specimens from good quality photographs, but detailed examination may be necessary.

Woodland and other well wooded areas.

A summer species, peaking around August.

Chorisops nagatomii was added to the British list in 1979 following the realisation that there were two species confused under Chorisops tibialis. It seems to be quite widespread in the southern half of Britain.

Not recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland until 2017, but confusion with Chorisops tibialis means that true status is difficult to determine.
