Description

A large froghopper (Length 9 -11 mm). The only UK species in this family, and unmistakable with bright red and black markings

Habitat

A variety of wooded and open habitats, grassland, meadows etc.

When to see it

Adult: April to August.

Life History

The nymphs are rarely seen, as they feed on underground roots.
