A small dark-coloured bug found on Scots Pine. The dorsal surface is covered in scale-like pale hairs. The 2nd antennal segment is strongly thickened in females, less so in males, and is shorter than the 2nd segment of Atractotomus magnicornis found on Spruce. The 2nd (thickened) antennal segment is less than/equal to 1.1x the head width in the female; less than/equal to 1.2x head-width in the male (ref. Nau, draft unpublished key, 2012). 

Tarsal claws are shorter and broader than the very similar A magnicornis. Dissection of male genitalia may be needed to verify.

Note the tree species on which it was found.  Detailed photographs showing head and antennae. We recommend that good micro-photos of tarsal claws or dissected male gentialia are also submitted, and that a specimen is retained in case it is needed for verification.
