A perennial polypore with rust-brown to dark-brown felty and zonate caps.  The pores are yellowish-brown, labyrinthine and elongated or gill-like; 15 - 20 per cm at margins.

Infrequent or under recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland where there are only 6 records to 2016.
