Cedrus deodara is an evergreen conifer making a large tree, at first conical with a drooping leading shoot, later broad-crowned.  Ends of branchlets drooping.  Needles to 4cm in length, slightly glaucous, mostly whorled. Cone to 10 cm in length, broadly-ovoid.

Tip of tree pendent, branches usually drooping at tips. Leaves usually a bright green, not glaucous

Widespread in as a planted tree in Britain.

Rarely recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland. It was not recorded in the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire.
