We have organised a visit to the Wash Brook Nature Reserve on Sunday 26^th June at 10.00 am for two hours.  We last visited in August 2015, and focused on plants.  In total we recorded about 120 species, increasing the number of species recorded for the reserve on NatureSpot from 12 to 129. This included a bee not previously recorded on NatureSpot in Leicestershire or Rutland.   This time, the focus will be on “Birds and Bugs”, and we will see what we can find to add to our knowledge of wildlife on the site.

Wash Brook Nature Reserve has three entrances.  We shall be meeting at the entrance on Knighton Lane East at 10.00 am.  To get there, go along Knighton Lane East from Welford Road past the two secondary schools.  Just before the railway bridge there is a mini roundabout, and between the mini roundabout and the used commercial vehicles lot on the left is a sign that says Wash Brook Nature Park and an entrance.  If you arrive after 10.00 am, walk down the path to find us.  Please let us know if you plan to attend: knightonwild(at)gmail.com
