Wingspan 18 to 21 mm.

Gardens, parks and other areas where rose species are found.

Moths are at large between June and August.

The larva feeds mainly on Rose (Rosa), forming a spinning amongst the leaves or shoots.

It is fairly common and well distributed through the British Isles. In the Butterfly Conservation's Microlepidoptera Report 2011 this species was classified as common.

Fairly common in Leicestershire and Rutland. L&R Moth Group status = A (common and resident).
