Associated with deciduous woodland.
Summer and autumn.
Widespread but local in central and eastern England with a few isolated records in south Wales. So far it is absent from the rest of Wales and from the West Country, north west England, Scotland and Ireland but is probably under reecorded in these areas.
Uncommon or under recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were only 3 validated records for this species according to the 'Checklist of Neuroptera and allies in VC55' published in 2018.
