A small bolete associated with pines, with a cap that is very sticky when wet.  The cap is brown and the stipe whitish or yellowish with a ring.  The large stem ring is white with a pale purplish tinge underneath and numerous small dark dots.

The Weeping Bolete Suillus granulatus has often been recorded in VC55; it is yellow to reddish brown but has no stem ring.  Suillus bovinus has occasionally been recorded; it is pale brown and has no stem ring. Both are associated with Pine.
