'Leicester and its river, the story of the River Soar and how Leicester has grown up with it' is the title of a talk by Adrian Lane, Senior Riverside Officer of Leicester City Council for Knighton Wild at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 14th October  in the Junior Hall at Leicester High School, 454 London Road, Leicester LE2 2PP.

The story is about the physical creation of the river we have today. It also charts man’s urban development alongside the river and how our needs and uses have changed. It brings us into the current age and the environment we have today and how we are trying to manage it.

Adrian will also talk about work that has been going on elsewhere in the Soar Valley catchment to restore local brooks such as the Willow Brook.
