Length 5-7mm. Eremocoris are medium-sized or large ground bugs which have rather reddish-brown forewings and a pair of semicircular white spots on the membrane, adjacent to the cuneus. E. podagricus has two large and several smaller spines on the front femora. Tibia pubescent, longest hairs roughly equal to the tibial width. 

Detailed examination of the specimen is needed to identify the species (a photograph alone is not normally sufficient because there are one or more similar species).

Found locally in chalky and sandy areas. Seems particularly associated with moss beneath hawthorns growing on chalk downland.

Adult: All year

A rather local species found across central and southern England.

Uncommon or under recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland.
