Length: 5 to 6 mm. A large leafhopper, light brownish in colour with darker markings in the forewing cells.  The vertex normally has four dark marks in a V-shape pointing toward the tip.  Dissection of the male will confirm identification; females have a tooth on the underside of the 7th abdominal sternum.

Several other species are similar -  Euscelis, Streptanus, Macustus

Careful examination of a specimen is needed - including photos of vertex, and measurement.  Examination of internal male genitalia or female undersides may confirm ID

Damp places with rushes.

Adult: July to October.
