3-5mm in diameter. A small, pearly-looking ramshorn that is lens shaped with a smooth keel around the middle. The aperture (mouth) is very narrow and heart-shaped. The shell is thin and fragile with a grey, silky appearance (though not shining).

Unless identified by a recognised expert, good photos are required that show the key ID features. Also state the shell's size in the comments box. A edge-on photo showing the mouth is desirable.

It is found in still or slow-moving waterways, including small ponds and temporary pools and ditches, that are well-vegetated and have a muddy bottom. It can be found attached to submerged plants.

Relatively common and widespread.

Uncommon or under-recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland.
