Length 4 to 5 mm. The structure and markings are distinctive. Features to look for are the black pronotum and white collar, as well as the antennal pattern. The eyes are placed relatively far forward.

Around areas where Rhododendron is present.

June to September.

It feeds solely on Rhododendron.

First recorded in the 1970s, this bug is probably native to the USA but is now well established in southern and central Britain at least.

Local in Leicestershire and Rutland.
