This is quite a large broad-nosed ground weevil (8 to 9.5 mm). The light brown elytra have a slight mottling of paler blotches and also have a sparse covering short of bristly hairs.

A ground dwelling species which may be found under stones, on the soil surface or on low vegetation.

Widely distributed in England and Wales.

Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
