Tetratoma fungorum
Description
Length around 6mm. Antennal club of 4 segments, elytra with scattered punctures but without punctate striae. Although quite distinctively coloured this species is superficially similar to Triplax aenea, another common beetle of Bracket Fungus.

Habitat
Can be quite numerous in or on wood-decay fungi, especially Birch Polypore.
When to see it
All year round.
UK Status
Widespread and fairly frequent in England and Wales.
VC55 Status
Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 38 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
