Description

A mainly black sawfly with a wide yellow band on the abdomen.

Habitat

Well vegetated areas. It is associated with various species of the rose family.

When to see it

Late spring and summer.

UK Status

A local species mainly found in England and south Wales.

VC55 Status

Infrequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
