Puccinia antirrhini

Puccinia antirrhini

Description

A rust found on Antirrhinum (Snapdragons) and related species.   There is no host alternation, and only uredinia and telia are formed.   The uredinia are brown and mostly on the leaf undersides, and can be very numerous causing some distortion of the plant.  Despite this, it is not listed in Redfern & Shirley (2023) as a gall-causer.  Telia are darker brown and may also form on leaves and capsules; the teliospores are two-celled and have a pointed apex.
