Description

A resupinate crust, with small pores on rusty brown or orangey pore surface.  May sometimes have small false caps.

The two species can only be separated by close examination under microscope or high magnification hand lens

Photograph in habitat, and in close-up showing pore surface.   Note habitat, substrate and associated tree species.  If you have not examined this under the microscope or high magn. hand lens, or had it verified by an expert, record as this (Fuscoporia genus).

Deciduous trees - typically oak, hazel or beech
