A small barkfly about 3mm in length. Its colouring ranges from yellowish on the underside to dark brown on the head and thorax.

Mainly in association with calcareous grassland. One of the few barkflies associated with open grassland rather than trees.

Summer-Autumn.

UK Status

Scarce in England and Wales, rare in Scotland.
