Associated with Apple trees, the larval food plant.

Flight period is July and August.

In Britain the larvae feed mainly on Apple forming a leaf roll.

Quite a rare species in Britain. In the Butterfly Conservation's Microlepidoptera Report 2011 this species was classified as Nationally Scarce A.

Rare in VC55 (Leicestershire and Rutland).
