Very similar to Pimpla rufipes, with a black body and red legs, but distinguished by the pale hairs on the face and propodeum. The stout female ovipositor is held pointing slightly upwards. The pronotum usually has a pale stripe in the hind corners. The hind coxa are black.

It parasitises Wax Moths.
