4.1-5.2mm. Glossy black elytra with 4 pale (yellowish) spots, the larger basal spots broadly triangular. The elytral striae are only in the basal half, fading out afterwards.

Bembidion quadrimaculatum is smaller (c3mm) and has striae that extend well into the apical half.
