A small (2.6 to 3.4 mm) black or dark grey weevil.  There are a number of similar species and detailed examination is required.

Associated with Garlic Mustard and most likely to be encountered by sweeping that plant.

Spring to summer.

Larvae are found on Garlic Mustard. Pupation in the soil.

Widespread, but sometimes local in England and Wales.

Rarely recorded in VC55.  A Cosby record on 26 April 2024 was the first for Leicestershire and Rutland, but was swiftly followed by a second record.
