Description
This bright green algae grows into tubular fronds, 10-30cm in length and 6-18mm in diameter. Though principally a marine species it is found in brackish water and occasionally in freshwater, typically where eutrophic conditions exists due to high nitrate pollution.

Though mainly a marine species, it is found in eutrophic freshwater.

Common as a coastal species, rare inland.
