Hazel Porecrust - Dichomitus campestris

Description

An annual polypore, usually resupinate.  The colour ranges from cream to rusty brown, and as it mature it develops a black margin along entire base.  The fertile surface has corase pores spaced at 1 - 2 per mm.

Habitat

On deciduous wood, usually living Oak or Hazel, causing white rot (ref. Laessoe & Petersen)
