Ablabesmyia are a genus of non-biting midges.  They are very difficult to identify to species level, but we have included it as a genus only entry as they are quite distinctive.

Ablabesmyia species seem to be quite widespread in Britain, though not well recorded.

Rarely recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland.
