Ramularia rubella
Ramularia rubella
Description
Ramularia rubella is a plant pathogen that infects Docks (Rumex species). Infection produces reddish spots on leaves. The red colour is caused by the production of rubellin, a phytotoxin. Small white tufts of conidia in caespituli, emerging from stomata, should be visible.
Similar Species
Ramularia pratensis var. pratensis also affects Rumex spp. Similar spots can be caused by pathogens or physical damage.
