A large elongated yellowish-buff or apricot ear with a split down the shorter side and edges overlapping.  The inner surface may have pinkish spots.

Other Otidea recorded in VC55 are more buff or brownish in colour, but Hare's-ear can be a buff colour.  For certain identification, spores should be examined.
