Sisyrinchium striatum can reach a height of 70 to 90 cm. It has an erect stem with a clump of grey-green sword-shaped alternate leaves and several clusters of cup-shaped creamy white flowers with six tepals and golden centres. 

Often found as an escape from cultivation and near to habitation.

Flowering May and June.

Perennial.

Widespread scattered records in Britain.

Rarely recorded in the wild in Leicestershire and Rutland.
