Length 10 to 14 mm. This is a uniformly yellowish brown caddisfly.

Around still or slow moving water but also attracted to light.

June to September.

Larvae associated with freshwater sponges.

Fairly common in south eastern and eastern England, it seems to be increasing its range and has been recorded as far north as Cheshire and Yorkshire.

Thought to be infrequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
