Eared Leafhopper - Ledra aurita
Description
A very large and unmistakable leafhopper (13-18mm length). The pronotum has ear-like projections on the pronotum.

Habitat
It is found on lichen-covered trees, particularly oaks.
When to see it
Adult: May-September
UK Status
Local, mainly southern Britain (ref.: UK Auchenorrhyncha checklist 2021, on British Bugs website)
VC55 Status
It seems to be uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland but is very difficult to spot in it's favoured environment due to excellent camouflage. Most records for VC55 have been individuals attracted to light traps.
