Wingspan about 14 mm. A rather nondescript-looking species.

Determination by gen det may be needed for this species.

It inhabits gardens and hedgerows, where the foodplants Hawthorn and Cherry occur. It also sometimes feeds on Apple.

The adult moths fly in late June and July, during the day if it is sunny, and later towards dusk.

The larva spins leaves together, feeding within.

Local in distribution it is found throughout southern England, ranging northwards to Yorkshire. In the Butterfly Conservation's Microlepidoptera Report 2011 this species was classified as local.

Rarely recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland.
