A small (1.6 to 2 mm) grey-black weevil with ribbed elytra.

Larvae feed in the flowers heads of certain Asteraceae including Stinking Chamomile, Scented Mayweed and Scentless Mayweed.

Widespread in the southern half of Britain, but may be local in its distribution.

Infrequently recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland.
