2.2 to 2.9 mm.  A brown weevil with distinctive white blotches which are visible to the naked eye despite the weevils small size.

Usually encountered on plants in the Borage family such as Green Alkanet and Comfrey.

Peak time is from April to the end of June.

Widespread in the southern half of Britain.

Infrequently recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland although concentrated searches of its foodplants would probably produce more records.
