Description

This is a silvery grey-green lichen with dish like lobes. The lobes have a network of sharp ridges and depressions giving the lichen a hammered appearance.

Usually on trees occasionally on rock.

When to see it

All year round.

Life History

It is very tolerant of pollution.

UK Status

Widespread and common in Britain.

VC55 Status

Common in Leicestershire and Rutland.
