Size about 5 mm. The females have very tiny wings and appear wingless, the males are fully winged. The body is a pale yellow suffused with brown markings.

Found mainly on branches of deciduous and evergreen trees and bushes and is particularly common on Hawthorn.

June and July.

Occasional but widespread in Britain.

Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland.
