Zoophthora forficulae fatally attacks Earwigs (Forficula sp). The fungus emerges through the thin cuticular intersegmental parts of the host body.

Microscopic examination of fungal spores (conidia) may be needed.  You must identify the host insect, at least to family.

on earwigs

We are not sure whether other entomopathogenic fungi can affect earwigs, and therefore records are given 'Plausible' status.
