Description
Wingspan 10 to 14 mm. Although the sexes are superficially similar, the hindwings of the males are whitish, whereas those of the female are dark.

Occupying woodland habitat especially bluebell woods.
When to see it
May and June.
Life History
The adults fly in May and June, the larvae subsequently feeding inside the seed capsules of bluebell.
UK Status
In the Butterfly Conservation's Microlepidoptera Report 2011 this species was classified as local.
VC55 Status
Rare in our area.
