The galls caused by the gall mite Phytoptus tetratrichus occur on the leaves of some species of Lime and take the form of a tight, usually downward, roll on the edge of the leaf 1 to 2 mm wide. It may be short or long and may even affect the whole leaf margin.  Inside it is hairy and contains mites. The gall is recorded more often than the adult.
