Water-cress (Nasturtium officinale) and Narrow-fruited Water-cress (Nasturtium microphyllum) can be very difficult to distinguish, especially when the pods are not present. A hybrid between the two species also exists. For this reason we have created a page for the two species as an aggregate. We suggest that anyone submitting records which have not been independently verified by an expert submits them as the aggregate.  See individual species pages for descriptions.

Perennial. 

The two species are widespread in Britain with Nasturtium microphyllum becoming more frequent further north.

Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire Nasturtium officinale was found in 91 of the 617 tetrads, whilst Nasturtium microphyllum was found in 180 of the 617 tetrads.
