Pink Tansy Aphid is a medium-sized pink aphid with a large blackish spot on the abdomen. The antennal tubercles are very weakly developed, so that the front of head is very shallowly concave. The siphunculi are dark and thin and 1.3 to 2 times the length of the cauda. The cauda is dusky or dark, elongate triangular with a rather narrow apex, less than 1.7 times longer than its basal width. The body length of the apterae is 2.2-2.9 mm.

The Pink Tansy Aphid feeds mainly on Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) and may be encountered where the host plant occurs.

When Tansy is in leaf.

It is regularly tended by ants, most frequently by Lasius niger.

Status in Britain is difficult to determine due to lack of records, although this is believed to be the most commonly encountered aphid on Tansy.

Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
