Wingspan 11-15 mm. With a wingspan of approximately 13 mm, it is one of the smaller Tortricidae. The conspicuous yellow blotch identifies this colourful moth when at rest.

Wide range of habitats, including hedgerows and gardens.

Flying during May to July it can often be seen flying during the day around its main foodplant, Ash.

The larvae also feed on Privet.

It is quite common through most of Britain. In the Butterfly Conservation’s Microlepidoptera Report 2011 this species was classified as common.

Quite common in Leicestershire and Rutland. L&R Moth Group status = A (common and resident)
