Camassia quamash is a clump-forming bulbous plant, growing to 80cm tall, with long, narrow basal leaves. Upright stems bear a dense spike of star-shaped blue flowers, up to 7cm across.

Flowering in early summer.

Bulbous perennial.

There are very few records of this plant in the wild in Britain.

Rare as an escape from cultivation in Leicestershire and Rutland. It was not recorded in the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire.
